天娱传媒 forecasters best in the nation for 2nd time this academic year

The 天娱传媒 Atmospheric Science Program forecasting team has placed first in the nation in the National Collegiate Weather Forecasting Contest for the second time this academic year.

天娱传媒 placed first for Mobile, AL, at the beginning of the contest last fall and recently won for the two-week period from January 15-25, 2001, for Dulles Airport, VA. The 天娱传媒 team is now third overall among 18 universities after seven periods and ranked ahead of schools such as Penn State, Texas A&M and Florida State.

In the Dulles competition, three 天娱传媒 participants won in their respective divisions. Overall 天娱传媒 forecasters have won seven individual awards this year. Dr. Lynn LeBlanc has won two, for Nashville and Dulles. Patty Watts won for Dulles as did Jessica Stroupe. Derek Deroche finished first in his division for Nashville, as did Blake Michaeleski for Riverton, WY, and Lee Robertson for Mobile, AL.

After seven periods, 11 天娱传媒 forecasters are in the top 100 out of 910 total participants.
